Since more and more users are coming to wikidot hosted wiki-sites by mobile phones, I think we may need a mobile page for wikidot-hosted wikis. I do think I have seen some projects related to it, but I don't see any results.

http://blog.wikidot.com/blog:wikidot-mobile-application-by-tsangk - have you seen this ?
Not sure if this helps at the moment…

Yes, I have seen this article and actually tried using the app. It was great, with the forum service, but what I wanted was a mobile hosted wiki site, for viewing. Some wikidot-based wikis are quite annoying to view in mobile, since we have to resize it and everything.
I know that Ed (
Ed Johnson) has done some work on this and I've also spent some time looking into responsive design for Wikidot sites, but other work has got in the way. I don't think either of us are yet in a position for anyone to look at a site yet but hopefully I'll return to this over the next few months.. I doubt it's something that the developers have worked on up to now.

I've also touched on basic responsive design for my own site — ktsang.tk. I plan to release my theme to the public repository soon.
It works around the idea of flexible boxes that span one-third, half, two-thirds or the whole way. And everything is done on a percentage scale so things can be nested. The advantage is that I can easily collapse everything when it comes to mobile devices — i.e. all blocks become full-width. Try resizing the browser window to a size smaller than ~800px :)
And yes, it's Metro inspired.
Fingers-crossed that they will be doing something to do with flexible, responsive designs. To me, it's perhaps the biggest turn-off of Wikidot at the moment — i.e. the lack of easy mobile support.

If mobile support is guaranteed for wikidot-hosted wiki sites, I do believe that there would be more users due to increased mobile access. I agree that wikidot does lack on more mobile support. Lots of our wiki users were complaining that it is very annoying to access wikidot-based wiki on mobile, since the page size does not fit.
Among others, it's one of the things currently on our to-do list. We realize that Wikidot's interface and overall look is obsolete. At the moment and within next few weeks/months we're going to bring Wikidot into line with new interface as well as mobile version (responsive design to be precise). Everything is planned to be independent from the current layout and themes. New users are going to have new look from the beginning while existing users and their sites will remain untouched unless explicitly chosen to migrate to new one (with the appropriate opportunity to customize their themes to new layouts and UI). Stay tuned, we are really working hard on making Wikidot modern and accommodated to current trends in web design, interfaces, user experience and mobile support.
This sounds really, really promising! Can't wait to see what you have in store for us :)

Please, please, please consider incorporating my wish for jQuery Mobile support along with your plans for responsive, mobile-friendly templates.
Since jQuery mobile syntax is mostly coded using HTML attribute/value pairs and CSS attributes, I think it might be a good fit to play nice with the current wiki syntax.

From the time Bootstrap has been introduced, Wikidot is mobile friendly. If Bootstrap is used, it's responsiveness features covers mobile support fully, so I consider this as completed.
