The recent release of jQuery Mobile 1.3 got me thinking again how nice it would be if we could use modern libraries like this natively with our Wikidot sites.
Since jQuery mobile syntax is mostly coded using HTML attribute/value pairs and the rest with CSS attributes, I can't see any security-type reason that this wish should be rejected.
It could be enabled on a per site basis by giving us a site manager option to turn it on or off for our sites. It might also make sense to create some mobile-specific templates. You could make it a feature that's for pro accounts only to help motivate free users to upgrade their accounts.
One advantage I see is that there would be no need for any new wiki markup since everything could be accomplished with div blocks, IDs and CSS classes (although we'd need support for IDs which I think get stripped out by the parser now).
This topic obviously needs a lot more discussion to sort out the logistics involved, but I would love it if our fabulous Wikidot developers could figure out a way that allowed us to enable jQuery Mobile markup and classes for our sites. Even if it meant creating and maintaining a second, companion site to our main site, I would welcome this option.
I, for one, would be a willing, able and eager beta tester if you would ever consider implementing this. I would also appreciate some kind of response, even if it's one that shoots down this wish. If it's rejected, I'm interested to hear what technical challenges you see that would prevent this from being possible within the Wikidot framework.
For those not familiar, I forgot to add some links to read more about jQuery mobile:

As someone who uses jQuery a lot on my sites, particularly in headers, and always hates the fact that it has to be done in html blocks I vote this wish up. Being able to use the framework natively would be great.

This wish has a more narrow focus in that jQuery Mobile is designed to work with jQuery to make mobile-friendly web sites easier to get up and running.
While I'd love full jQuery support as well, I'm going for a baby step here. It seems like every other wish for anything that might use javascript or a javascript library gets shot down for security reasons. I just want to be able to create a mobile web site using Wikidot and jQuery Mobile would be a great framework to operate in.
