I'd like the ability to make the 'create account' link also sign that user up to my wiki, if they are clicking the link from one of my site pages.
This could be an optional site-branding feature for Pro users, leaving the current behaviour of signing them up to only Wikidot as the default.
What happens now:
Clicking on the 'create account' link signs a user up to Wikidot, but not to your site.
What I'd like to happen:
Clicking on the 'create account' link acts as if they clicked on a Join button, and prompts them to either sign in or to create an account, then go through with entering a password or application text (if applicable).
This suggested feature would be great to have as the current system, has caused a lot of confusion on my site post launch (which is in a Closed Site membership mode) resulting in a number of intended members trying to join my site, but instead only just joining Wikidot with no access to my site 'Music Industrapedia' (just Wikidot). And given the enormous amount of existing members on Wikidot itself, it's just too hard to track these intended new members to my site down (to invite within as new Wikidot members), given the various names and nicknames people register under.

Ya, I've had the same Issue.. this would be GREAT to have… and would resolve the issue I am currently having trying to create a work around..
We often have that problem. We have a closed pro account and we send potential members an email with a password in order to join.
Nevertheless, potential new members often try to create an account via the obvious "create account" link at the top of our wiki and not via the different link in our email. Of course, if I were applying to a wiki, I would also assume that a big "create account" link on the top of the wiki would be the correct place to start. Unfortunately, they do not become one of our members but rather a generic wikidot member (who does nothing for wikidot because the member was trying to apply to a specific wiki).
This creates numerous problems. New members are frustrated because they can't understand why they can't post despite having filled out the application and "joined". This results in numerous emails trying to correct the problem and soothe ruffled feathers. Moreover, we get many potential members who give up (despite filling out the wikidot application) because they think our wiki isn't working properly or the whole wiki process is too cumbersome. This does not help us and certainly doesn't help wikidot find new members or customers.
Please add a site specific "create account" link to the top of all wikis, especially for pro accounts which are paying for their wiki service.

It should be a simple fix in order to add a site ID number to the "create account" link on the top left of wiki.
Please!!! add this feature. We lose many potential members who have tried to apply to our wiki (as they think that they have applied to our wiki via the "create account" link found on every wiki page but then receive a message that they are not a member of the wiki when they try to edit). At least, you should consider making this change for paying customers (pro accounts).
The two-step membership is difficult enough. Wikidot should study the ease that other large sites make for new members to join. Eliminate complexity.
This issue has been ongoing forever. Please read this 2007 commentary - http://community.wikidot.com/forum/t-23673/serious-user-sign-up-problem

I completely agree that a single sign-up process would be much much better than the two step process we have always had. The current system is not good or at all intuitive. But….
What do you base this on? Do you know the coding the devs have to do or the difficulties there are in doing this? I don't. I'm sure If it was easy it would have been done back in 2007.

I am not a software developer so I may be totally clueless in regards to what might be involved for a system-wide program. Nevertheless, when I send out an email now (with the password to our closed wiki) to potential new members, I also send out a link to join (that includes our site ID in it). Therefore, this site ID sign-up link is already available.
