I agree. I have a wishlist, just like this. If I receive a wish by e-mail or in a meeting I want to put that on the owner of the wish…
I believe the data form alternative that I mentioned below will suit your needs. If you want me to help you set that up, feel free to send me a PM and I'll explain how data forms work.

Wikidot has a fairly consistent response with this type of request - they don't want to allow anyone to mess with the integrity of the history information. For that reason, I suspect this will be rejected soon.
The best workaround is to just create a new page, or to create your own method of determining who created the page (for example, a data form field).

How about an alternative - leave the "Creator" information as it is, but make set the ability to change a page "owner"
We've had lots of turnover in last few years, as well as individuals taking over responsibility for pages.
If an "owner" variable existed (separate from "Creator" ) it could be set on page creation and modified as necessary by admins.
Sounds like a good idea to me.
However I suspect it would involve quite a bit of effort from Wikidot to implement:
… so whilst I would love to see something like this implemented, it would take time.

If this wish were modified to ask for an %%owned_by%% variable instead, I would certainly +1 the rating.

Has there been any progress on this request? We all use Wikidot in different ways, and there are definitely times where being able to directly change the page owner would outweigh concerns and be better than the alternative of creating a new page, losing all comments, ratings, etc. At minimum this should be something the Master Admin can do.
