To explain this better, I want to set up something where I can duplicate one of my categories that includes all of the pages already coded and the live template. This way I can edit the live template and test out how one of my current categories will look without making any changes to the normal live pages. Then this wish http://feedback.wikidot.com/wish:504 also comes into play because I want to keep certain pages from being automatically tweeted, thus keeping everything private.
I hope I explained this good enough.
If you're under 100 pages and have a site available, you could clone it to another site for testing.

I know that lol, I'm talking about keeping everything on the same site.

This is for people with sites over 100 pages (hopefully a Pro+ feature) but will be nice if everyone can do this. (I'm talking about cloning a category) but keeping everything live, so that when you add a new page, it updates the clone as well. (but we're not actually cloning, just duplicating a live category)

This sounds like a job for the API. I suggested cloning as a workaround for testing (I do that quite often).

If Wikidot would increase the number of pages that can be cloned then I would love that instead. Possibly up it to 400+? I just need another way to test certain categories rather than the whole site.

Agreed. I believe the limit was added when they ran into problems with server load caused by cloning large sites. If we could clone categories, it might make it possible to do it in batches (if we could clone a category into an existing site rather than creating a new one). leiger's new version of STE should make it possible for us to do some of this through the API.
