I'm not asking to be able to edit the wikidot javascript, I'm simply asking to let us just add javascript. I'm sure there are other artists like myself who would love to add some animations and effects using javascript. So all we would need to do is have the ability to add it, not edit it. This is a simple wish.

It would presumably also allow us to put jquery sliders directly into the header rather than what we have to do now which is to put it in the main content and do absolute positioning with CSS.

yes I really can't stand that to be honest, there would be a lot more productivity if this feature is accepted.

Yes, this would be great. But without a major overhaul of how Wikidot processes logins or AJAX requests, data could easily be compromised. I could add several lines of JS on any Wikidot page and reset that user's password and email.

There must be a way to restrict that tho. I know from using wordpress that this is a very easy thing to do. I'm sure Wikidot can do this. If I can do this one (figure it out) than I'm sure wikidot can to.
It's really getting to me lately that wikidot doesn't have little easy features like this.
And besides that, what is holding wikidot back from adding features like this? I know security is an issue here, but does everyone not understand how to restrict certain people from looking at certain files and keep everything secure? To me this is easy to accomplish and I'm more design than programming, so for a programmer this has to be easy.
Everyone will have it a lot easier, and will have BETTER WEBSITES if this feature is accepted.
Just think how much better Roaring Apps would be with this feature accepted. Not just that site, but do you know what kind of HTML5 site I can create, or do you know what I can turn the Icon Deposit into if this is accepted? Even wikidots main site can be upgraded heavily if this is accepted.
I know I'm not the only one who feels like this.

Probably development resources
I have no doubt that the will is there but the development time for really important features (which I realise is different for different people) has always been waaay too long and we are never given any idea of timescales which is very frustrating.

yes agreed.

We will never allow to add javascript into wikidot source. Its cause security risk. If you are able to add javascript in our domain you are able to perform any action.
You can perform those actions on page load for any visiting user.
Rejecting.
