To make Pro accounts more attractive, I'd like to suggest that the custom footer be editable by all Pro users (Pro Lite included, rather than just Pro+ as it is now).
Instead, put some limits on the content (e.g. force a link to Wikidot.com homepage & Terms of Service by doing an automatic check for links to those pages when they save the new footer) if you wish.
At the moment the inability to edit the footer (unless you have a Pro+ account) is turning many potential customers away from Wikidot, because the opposition does allow them to remove the host branding.
Keep in mind… many people that like Wikidot will gladly put a link back to the Wikidot homepage anyway, because of the level of community support that is offered by people in different timezones. I have the ability to edit the custom footer yet I always link back to Wikidot. I know that a few others on the community do this as well.
Agreed. I have a free account, but you are right. I personally don't need the footer because i can put a "footer" on the homepage. Anyway… +1 from me. I think this wish will be completed very fast (maybe).
Me too,for example here.
