Currently the Custom license text section is limited to 300 characters and it does not support wiki syntax. This is very limiting. I'd like more space so I can use an html block to render code provided by sites like creativecommons.org.
For example, I'd like to be able to use something like this for my Custom license text.:
[
]
<a rel="license" href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/">
<img alt="Creative Commons License" style="border-width:0"
src="http://i.creativecommons.org/l/by-nc-sa/3.0/88x31.png" /></a>
<br />This work is licensed under a <a rel="license"
href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/">
Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0
Unported License</a>.
[
]
+1, but I think it would better to rework that block in Wikdot notation, to avoid an unnecessary iframe and because that notice is on two lines. (There's a <br> after the image.)
[[image http://i.creativecommons.org/l/by-nc-sa/3.0/88x31.png link="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/"]] This work is licensed under a [[[http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/ | Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License]]]
(That's actually only 284 characters, but of course it uses wikidot syntax and it's uncomfortably close to 300.)
On a related point, it seems to me that there should be a copyright notice on that line along with the license text. See http://jeffmould.com/2010/12/do-i-need-a-copyright-notice-on-my-website/
Agreed. my preference would be to convert it to complete wiki syntax as well. What triggered this wish was that I noticed a site that had this pasted in on the bottom of the start page and was then also displaying one of the Wikidot default CC3 licenses. I'm trying to help this user with a few things and this jumped out at me as something that belonged in the custom license area in place of the default license. This user also happens to be a lawyer, so she added her own bit of legalese to the license, making it go way over 300 characters.

When I tried to fit the CC Attribution NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License plus the text they provide at Creative Commons for that, it took up about 2 1/2 inches of space at the bottom. Wiki Syntax did not work to make the text size smaller, (I found out after many tries). I agree with Ed that a custom license should be able to be modified to the space and required language and displace the default license. I was especially frustrated that the wiki syntax did not work, (without warning) as I am beginner enough to where I assume if something isn't working, it's something I need to learn and so I spend lots of needless time trying to make it work.

Tried to rate this up, but apparently I've already done so. So I'll just post here to bump it anyway :)
