also, give it a refresh="true" option. This would allow people to see changes that take place as a result of [[iftags]]
Perhaps it could be made to always refresh? Is there a use case where refreshing isn't ideal?

The page would always refresh.

Yes, that is a good design. If it's implemented like that, it'll probably be perfect.

Hey, I'm wondering if there is an estimated time frame for this? I'd really like to see it implemented! ;-)
My use case is a compatibility list. Setting tags manually is not user-friendly for people that are new to how Wikidot works.
Thanks,
Shane

I'm also looking forward to this wish being implemented - there are endless possibilities for new functionality. Fingers crossed it will be soon :)

As long as it works inside modules (and other buttons usually do, so I can't see why not), it will be perfect for me!

Good reminder bcammo!
This is being implemented right now. The final syntax for this will be:
With the following cheats:
The above will clear all visible tags (i.e. not starting with "_") and add abc tag.
The above will clear all hidden tags (i.e. starting with "_") and add _abc tag.
The +tag, -tag, -* and -_* can be mixed of course. The actual code will first delete all the requested tags, then add, so it's safe to add "-*" or "-_*" at the end of the list.

This is very good news!
Curiously, would the page reload upon clicking the button?

Yes and it's working for me too. I've added it to a site inside a live template and a suo snippet and it seems quite stable.

Wow this will be brilliant.

It is brilliant. The documentation is updated: http://www.wikidot.com/doc:wiki-syntax#toc60 and we already use it in our internal issue tracker.

Thank you Wikidot team for implementing this - it's a simple but great improvement to the platform.

This is amazing.
It should be mentioned on the Wikidot.com blog, so that others that don't watch the changelog etc. are aware of the feature!
