According to http://awstats.sourceforge.net/#DOWNLOAD, version 7.0 (beta) was released on 27th October 2010.

Fixes:
- Webmin module works with new version of webmin.
- Security fix (Traverse directory of LoadPlugin)
- Security fix (Limit config to defined directory to avoid access to external
config file via a nfs or webdav link).
Is there any chance we could have that MaxMind plug-in, or just the GEOIP one? Geographical location of our visitors would be very useful to have. The GeoLite Country database is probably sufficient, (I know enough about Geo-location to know how inaccurate anything below the country level is), and is free.
Once awstats 7.0 is released we may consider updating the version used.

About the geoip: it depends on how CPU intensive this would be. Keep in mind we generate statistics for plenty of sites. For example we dropped reverse-DNS of the client IP addresses to be able to serve the masses :)

GEOIP would be much cheaper than reverse-DNS, since it doesn't require any external requests. The one called GEOIP is probably the cheapest, since it just compares to the registered countries.
On the other hand , if we could export as CVS, then we could build an off-line reverse DNS (and geo-location) app.
I marked this as done as it has been implemented already. Thanks Wikidot!
