Well… it seems like the most obvious behaviour to me so I wouldn't think it would need to be documented?
Maybe it's just me that thinks that though - if it wasn't obvious to you, then many others may not realise this difference either.
It's just like the single-bracket setting… works exactly the same way: (the 3-bracket version of a link is only to make things easier for new users, AFAIK, and doesn't add any new functionality as such…)

Well if three brackets is the simple version… I would say they (wikidot) would add the slash automatically so it is a simpler syntax. But it appears that I am wrong. No harm in always adding this 'pre-slash'. I will remember it.
