Yes! A thousand times, yes!
Such a simple request, yet it is not available in the built-in forums.
If for some technical reason this is difficult to do, then at least an easier way to (a) delete all posts and (b) move to a hidden part of the forums.
It would make deleting spam posts on the community forums (and other Wikidot sites) a lot faster and less painful.

Yes! I do a lot of post-post editing, and would often like to delete threads that I decide not to keep. The current method of moving it to a hidden forum is annoying because I don't like the fact that it's still sitting around somewhere on the website.
omg yes, please, asap, or incorporate some form of Forum software into the site, bbc, phpbb, something.. :)
Wikidot Team:
If you make one single improvement for the built-in forum system… please add the ability to delete threads.
Even a kind of "soft" delete would be useful - deleting all comments, removing the content of the initial post, and moving the initial post to a hidden forum section. This is what we must do now, manually.
If deleting threads entirely is not technically possible or is difficult to implement, then automating the manual way of doing things would be a great half-way solution.

It would be enough to "space out" / "clear" the "titles" and "text" of the posts and thread of a "deleted" user(spammer) … and also to move it into the "HIDDEN deleted" category ( if exists).
That would be enough. !
Not to destroy the database and their threads..
Edit:
This are we doing now manually.
I know, there is a new waiting forum to implement on a coming day/momth /year … but this would be really helpful.

I agree. If a full forum thread delete option is not possible, automating the clearing of the title, deleting the post and moving it to hidden as Helmut has suggested would be a grreat improvement to save us doing it manually which is time-consuming..

This morning we had over 50 spam threads created from India, probably automatically via one of the two main forum spam packages. It took me 30 minutes to clear them all out. A better system than the manual process we currently have would have made this a quicker task.

I totally agree. I'm circling right behind you, Rob. Editing titles and descriptions on the threads (changing them to "spam / <null>"). As I understand it, the search engines are still indexing those hidden threads, so I don't want those spam titles and descriptions benefiting these !@$#$% at all.
My pattern after I kill the user is to
As Rob said, that's a lot of time and effort if one of us isn't able to kill the user quickly after they get rolling. It would be really helpful if the script could do some of these extra editing steps for us. It would be ideal if you would allow us to simply delete the entire thread.
I think we're all getting tired of chasing the "love doctor".

Thanks Ed. I hadn't started to go back to edit the titles in the hidden thread. Surely if a thread is hidden it shouldn't be found by search engines. Perhaps that's another wish!
The love doctor b%AS$£ds have been a menace on Wikimatrix too where I have moderator rights. But at least there we can select a series of threads quickly via a checkbox next to the thread title then hit a single delete key to completely delete them.

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW"> should tell the search engines to ignore a page. I suppose it gets a bit tricky to code that for pages rendered just in the hidden categories (or maybe not - TeRq has been doing some good stuff lately!)
Community Admin
Thanks Ed for the detailed explanation what we are doing with such threads.. in most cases I detected them in the creation process and stopped the users ( killing them) after the 2. or3. thread. but sometimes there is no one online and they can post their 20-25 threads.
1. About the Metatag nofollw - is there not a container-### with the hidden deleted tags possible ?
or is this only ONE pge ( Forum / thread )which controls all the sub pages..
2. Question to Bartlomiej: is there a possibility to check for the telephone number in such thread titles ( it is always the same ) to stop the automatically … woud it be good to have a table with such strings for stopping the posting in the creation moment?
