It can be hidden with CSS, but an officially supported method of removing the title would make sense to new users.

I agree that this would be a nice option to have available.
I did quite a bit of playing with CSS and data forms several months ago. This post might be helpful if you want to implement a CSS solution now.

CSS solution is a pain, as most of the time I'm creating a separate CSS theme just for a specific category, because I want to hide the title in that category only - every other part of the theme is identical to the rest of the site.
Low priority because there are workarounds, but nonetheless I'll be very happy if this is implemented.

Phil, I have a solution for this. Use my Per Category CSS Module. On Data Form categories where you do not want the title field to display, simply use the following CSS code on your category:_css page:
Of course, if you would like to hide the Page Title, you would also add the code #page-title {display: none;}.
But this solves your problem without having to modify the site's CSS, and without having to use the admin:manage page.
