Was about to post a wish for this, then realised it already existed. I'd really like to see this implemented (search, at the very least).
Even if it just searched sender/recipient names and/or the message title (not message content) it would still be extremely useful to me.

I just went through the pain of trying to find a past message. How about adding a filters to the inbox and sent items that works like the filter function when viewing our sites? Even if we could just filter for a user name, that would be huge.

Yes, definitely. The most painful thing I have ever had to do within Wikidot was to search for a previous Private Message.
I've had the misfortune to have to do it several times in the past.
It's basic functionality for the PM system that really is desperately needed!

I've been working on a bookmarklet solution for this. I'll release it soon. It'll load all messages ever received and searches user, subject and preview.
