I've seen lots of community requests for "how do I hide a bit of the forum so that only some users can see it?" — and the answer is always "you can't!". The entire forum can be made private or the relevant members can join a parallel site that is just a forum…but both are a pain.
Could we not have a way to make individual forum categories private — only viewable by members whose names have been added to a list by moderators/admins?
Or simpler, just a way to make some categories viewable only by moderators/admins?
Or be able to pull a category off the forum:start page and put it on a private page somewhere else?
I'm curious…why was this feature rejected? Technical reasons? Time? Effort? etc. …just curious.

Gilly. is. amazing. <3 (:
I second the question. Why was this rejected? As a routine courtesy explanations should be given. As I paying customer I would like to know. Not as a user making a wish. As a customer. I am really really getting sick of this lack of communication. I need the forum to work better. The forum questions are routinely ignored or rejected. And my increasingly angry protestations are ignored as well. I would like to know, once and for all, has wikidot decided to never ever improve the built-in forums? It would be better for me to know now than to keep putting effort into something that will not be supported well in the future. If not an answer to that question, at least an explanation as to why this wish was rejected and everybody can see "so-called" hidden parts of my forum.
