This week I'll celebrate my 1000th wikiday. For nearly three years, Wikidot has been the cornerstone of my neighborhood-based wiki-obsession.
But I won't likely notice any three-year milestone, because our "ago count" is still measured in days.
Even so, beyond the occasional 90-day span, I never count days any higher than… 30. I count longer spans in months and years — even for the time I treasure most dearly (my wife, my boys).
I know it's shorter and simpler to calculate days, but it's wonky. Most people don't think that way. In the interest of improved human interface, I suggest a conversion.
How about X months, X days, and once the period exceeds 3-4 months, why not just drop the days altogether? X years, X months.
That way we can start celebrating Wikidot anniversaries without needing a #$@)#$ calculator!
I agree 100%

I agree, it is more logical, except the part of dropping out the days. It should be X years, X months, X days.

The beauty in this is that it is Javascript that manipulates this text… we could code this ourselves.
