My site has PR 3, community has PR 6.
PageRank calculation is a Google secret and we have zero knowledge of what improves it. All we know about it is highly speculative.

@Gabrys do you have a wikidot site without a "suggested links" bar? One of the things that Google looks at is the number of outgoing links from the site, and in wikidot's "suggested links" the links keep changing randomly, which I think is not liked by the Pagerank algorithm.
This is just my guess; any other ideas to improve PR are welcome.
1. Google PageRank ranges from 0 to 10 for indexed pages.
2. We have no influence on Google, it is their game, but we try to make Wikidot Google-friendly by following their webmaster design guidelines. We also build sitemaps for each of our sites.
3. I do not think that "suggested links" has a significant impact on PR, but you can disable it.
4. Google is lazy at updating PR, it often takes months.
I am afraid we cannot really help with this. The best I can is to advice to read (and follow) some SEO guides if you are new to search engine optimization.

@michal
Thanks for your reply.
My purpose of this post was to also ask other wikidot users whether they had encountered the same problem. I am realizing that this is not the right forum for that.
Will ask on community.wikidot.com
Yes, community.wikidot.com is a much better place to ask about this. Cheers!

My site has a pagerank of 4 last time I checked and I get a lot of love from google these days. I may be wrong but I think you start out with a 4 from google automatically? I'm not doing anything magical in terms of seo. I follow some basic practices but wikidot seems to be quite google friendly in my experience. I will say it took a solid year before I got much from google and then everything started getting traffic.
The pagerank for you start page doesn't necessarily have much to do with the pageranks of other content pages on your site I don't think. (Edit: I think I was wrong about that. Matt Cutts of google wrote that the number of pages crawled on your site and subsequently indexed is directly proportional to the pr of your home page…but it is heresay. I don't know where he wrote it.)
Just to be clear I typically see traffic from content within a couple days and many time the same day from google searches. Which I believe is pretty darn good. I also have a wordpress site with a lot of similar content and my wikidot site gets tons more google traffic than that.
