I'd like to suggest that Wikidot add a way for users to upload *.htm/*.html and supporting files and folders for the purposes of using iframe with html source generated by 3rd party apps.
For example, I'd like to embed some JAlbum slideshows on my site. In order to use them on my site, I either have to host them on JAlbum's site (limited) or upload them to another host (expensive) and reference them there. There are many other software packages that generate HTML pages and code for use on your own site, but because they aren't set up to work from a single HTML page or single folder, it's very difficult or impossible to use directly with Wikidot.
What does this mean?

I think it means this:
Such a setup would be compatible with FTP software, for example.

What I mean is pro.wikidot.com/ticket:291
For those without access to the Pro site, here's what I posted:
Shane's suggestion is a good one, but there would be some technical complications in making sure that images are processed (to make the various sized thumbnails) and other files are updated in the database after uploading via FTP. It would require some kind of cron job to run regularly or set up for us to run the cron job manually from Site Manager. I think the Wikidot API will be a better option for managing "standard" Wikidot structure once write access is implemented.
