Why rejected?
Not nested if's would be great. Would it also be rejected if the if-function is only to evaluate content-blocks or field-values… Because the true or false could also be saved in the servercach-page.
I hate it to have to create a hidden tag for every value wich i wish to test on.
A - S I M P L E - P L A N by ARTiZEN a startingpoint for simple wikidot solutions.
Agreed — especially if what you're trying to do is add a tag based on a certain test condition being true (e.g. to add a tag for a particular author on pages when that author is mentioned). Though I suppose that might be somewhat different wish, and I've no idea if the mechanics would be worthwhile to implement…
Hi Steven, Where is this rejected? or was it?

Looking back on this, was this rejected, accepted or what? I kinda also want to add a [[else]] and [[else if]] tag, but not so much as just this.
Keeping with Wikidot conventions, perhaps this would be more consistent?

Quite possibly. Although, that would also depend on how wikidot handles variables, for instance, in includes or listpages. If there are no tags on a page, does that mean the simply don't exist? Or if some item is null in an include, how does wikidot handle it.
I was also thinking of an if this, then show this page, if that, then show that one. It could be useful if you had a %%user%% variable in all pages that was null for anonymous users.
EDIT: No, the tags are not set for this wish …. it is waiting for considering…

The inexistence of IF-THEN functionality is seriously the only thing making me consider moving my wiki elsewhere. The data forms and templates are great, and I absolutely want to make my project work using wikidot, but in order for me to make templates that can actually do some real work, I need basic IF-THEN functionality. I feel like it's a pretty fundamental part of basic programming, and it would add sooooo much power to this system. It's nice to have it for tags, but it really needs to be available for a variety of conditions (most especially the answers given on data forms). Thanks!
I agree that this would be good. Meanwhile you can set tags with dataform values (as I showed in the example I gave you last night - did you see it?). You can then use the iftags functionality to do things based on the result.
