Modified Request:
Although you can embed YouTube, Vimeo and the like using [[embedvideo]], it is not possible to use a player such as video.js in a similar manner to play self-hosted videos in full screen mode because the iframe that gets created using either [
] or [[iframe...]] does not include the allowfullscreen attribute.
To replicate the problem, create a wiki page with the following content:
[
]
<head>
<link href="//vjs.zencdn.net/4.12/video-js.css" rel="stylesheet">
<script src="//vjs.zencdn.net/4.12/video.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<video id="videojs" class="video-js vjs-default-skin"
controls preload="auto" width="640" height="264"
poster="http://video-js.zencoder.com/oceans-clip.png"
data-setup='{"example_option":true}'>
<source src="http://video-js.zencoder.com/oceans-clip.mp4" type='video/mp4' />
<source src="http://video-js.zencoder.com/oceans-clip.webm" type='video/webm' />
<source src="http://video-js.zencoder.com/oceans-clip.ogv" type='video/ogg' />
<p class="vjs-no-js">To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that <a href="http://videojs.com/html5-video-support/" target="_blank">supports HTML5 video</a></p>
</video>
</body>
[
]
You will be able to do anything with the video except use the button at the bottom right to go full screen. Interestingly on Firefox, you can right click the video and select FullScreen, but this is a browser feature and not a feature of the video player itself.
If you try to use [[embedvideo]] instead of [
] the player will not be able to load the video.
We need to be able to play some self-hosted videos that we don't want to place on YouTube or similar site for a variety of reasons. Wikidot has supported a flash based player for this in the past, but I would really like to use a modern HTML5 player instead.
Original Request:
When embedding YouTube's new HTML5 player, it requires that its containing iframe has the allowfullscreen attribute set to true if you want to view the video full screen. According to the documentation, Wikidot's iframe implementation doesn't support this attribute. So any YouTube videos embedded on a Wikidot page cannot be made full screen by clicking the bottom right button of the player.
