I stumbled across this wish only recently, and didn't quite see the benefit in an autosave option - but now I do, and I'm excited. The ability to create and save a page with one button press (and maybe even no text input for auto-numbered categories) would vastly increase wikidot's capabilities. This would allow us to easily use pages not for their content, but purely for the meta data they contains, such as parent-child relationships, when and by whom it was created, tags etc. I would really love to see this wish implemented.

Yes. For example, a custom "Rating" module that can show the results from anywhere you want simply using CountPages, category="rating" and parent="mypage".
You can show who rated, when they rated the page, etc.
This is all possible now, but is not user-friendly enough because people still need to click 'save'.

This is exactly what i've been working on - and was the reason for wish 515: ListPages - created_by=".". You can also show all the pages a user has rated. The possibilites are seemingly endless.
