A really "rename" does not "delete" the page—- have a look on your system:list-all-categories ( if you do not have such page than create a page called "system:list-all-categories" ( like our http://community.wikidot.com/system:list-all-categories ) and you can see all pages which exist on your wiki ( and their real names..

Also I would never really remove/delete a page - always rename it to the "deleted:" category where you can fond than all old pages.
Rename to opld start page is than easy, you only need to find it. !

You can also go to your admin page and amke a backup ( zip file) , and after finished making backup you can download it to <you hard disk under a good directory.

Every page will be in the directory "Source" (with their page name as file name) and all files ( if requested) in the directoy "files" .

Edit

You have made a home-page , also moved the content in the http://floodescape-totallyofficialwiki.wikidot.com/admin:themes
have a look on your OWN changes/Edits on your profile page: http://www.wikidot.com/user:info/vanwoody789 ( last updates)

Edit2

You can always see the history of changes of a specific page and always "R"everse the version to an old one!

Well, I guess there is just too many traffic and the servers used for the activity panel are constantly working on the edge. I think they tend to lag so hard the whole system crashes repeatedly.

I also think that they would need better servers for the activity panel which cost money. Maybe the activity panel is not just a script but an actual executable that cannot handle the load and also can not run on every server.

Wikidot seems to have grown too fast. I just hope that doesn't mean the death of Wikidot.

They should just find someone else to code Wikidot. Will any of us complain about that?

Exactly. It's incredibly frustrating and disappointing and no way to run a business.

by Ed JohnsonEd Johnson, 12 May 2018 13:25

Wait, seriously? That's despicable. Developers, I'm sorry if you're reading this and feel offended, but if you really don't care about it, at least have the decency to hand this torch off to people that do care.

Not sure if this deserves to be its own wish added later, but I feel that with this it would be nice to have a tool to mass-delete comments made under an IP address. Such as, if it took an admin a while to get around to banning someone, they could not only ban them, but get rid of their posts all in one go.

Yes indeed. This problem seems to have been fixed.

Thank you Michał by TB CaveTB Cave, 07 May 2018 20:25

Just thought I'd note that I think the problem was fixed, as I realized I hadn't had it happen to me in a while now. Thanks wikidot!

You can build your own check-list for changes like I have done on the community site: http://community.wikidot.com/system:check-for-spam-links

It may never be fixed. I believe the development team has moved on to different projects.

The developers apparently have way more important things to do than fix bugs and they seem content totally ignoring their user base.

by Ed JohnsonEd Johnson, 28 Apr 2018 16:54

Is there any indication of when/if it will be fixed? I don't fancy constantly checking every post I've made to see if there are any replies.

No… I am not a spammer….

My link is not intended to increase clicks… I make no money from the blog,… there is no advertising on it.

Just full of very useful information to users… and … of course to the link for downloading CWCOM..

the reason I post on here is because I know the Owner of CWCOM and have been in contact with him for years. His website is no longer serviced for personal reasons…

I am a user of CWCOM, and have helped hundreds of people when they came to the program to get the best from it… I used to do this direct… however, I decided to write a blog, so that it would be easier for me to re-direct any one, and not to keep repeating myself day after day.

Your comment implies that I posted for personal gain….. however, this is not true, and I do not gain anything

except a "good feeling" knowing that I am helping others to enjoy the program.

It's been down for about a month now.

I do not think you are a spammer and linking to your business site ( SEO-technic for better search resutls).
This is more an article for the http://snippets.wikidot.com/ … and not for the feedback site of wikidot…

"Interestingly" is the understatement of the year! I'm shocked you actually got a response!

Interestingly, I just got a response. XD They say they're working on it, so hopefully, we'll get a solution soonish.

Thanks for your comment Rednal. Those are very good points to make. It would be great to see some response from the management.

in discussion Hidden / Per page discussions » Authentication Error

I don't suppose there's any chance of getting a fix for this? It's very annoying to constantly be forced to jump between pages (like, every few seconds, if I'm referencing a lot) for false security errors. I couldn't even write this post without multiple jerks back to another tab for another popup saying the same thing. At the moment, it's too frustrating to even add things to my sites (and I have a paid subscription, too).
