Rejected User Cannot Join

by VK5EEE on 10 Aug 2015 23:57

We are a new, and rapidly popular, wikidot site for Australian Morse Code licensed Amateur Radio operators (hams). Because the membership is open and we want the site visible to all, but we have restricted membership by policy to licensed (Australian) radio amateurs. Most everyone joins up with their CALLSIGN or Name CALLSIGN, and we then decided to make this a requirement so that other users can see we are all licensed radio operators, and thus a high quality of content is achieved (VKCW.net). Once in a while someone signs up with just their name or some random username, so we started (once only!) to use the "reject" option with a message telling them to please change their username to include their CALLSIGN (license number). However, there is a bug. The person who was rejected and invited to change his screen name, did so, but cannot Join the site. It tells HIM he has already applied. But on our side, no new application. As super admin I can search for him and invite him but he does NOT receive any newe invitation, and when I tried again days later it told me I can not invite him as I already have. In the history of invites however, he is NOT listed either. Is the only option for him to use a different Email address and set up a new Wikidot account, and this appears to be a bug, so we cannot reject users and instead have to accept them and then the much harder route of asking them AFTER joining to please change their screen name if it does not include their radio callsign?

Not a bug - just the most trivial of corrections. Typo in the prompt for Force Lock Acquire:

Date field does not accept three-digit years

All right, I realize that this is probably a silly problem, but it is nevertheless a problem.

New Google Analytics not supported

by tsangk on 15 Dec 2013 02:03

Google Analytics has updated their analytics tracking code for more functionality. This new code provides support for the Demographics and Interest reports. Would be great if the code for Google Analytics could be updated on Wikidot to support this.
