Using a live template like this for category:
+ This is the first bit of content!
%%content{1}%%
++ Here is more content
%%content{2}%%
====
Default content for section 1.
====
Default for section 2.
The default content doesn't show up if a new page is created in category without the "create-and-edit" style. So, for example, if a user made the page category:my-page using a NewPage module in "save-and-refresh" mode, category:my-page is blank, and the edit box is also empty when the user goes to edit the page. The same goes for a pagepath page created via the pagepath drop-down boxes in a data form. I haven't been able to find a workaround for either of these issues.
Hope this makes sense.
Edit: Edited some wording for clarity.
Working on it.

Huh, I thought I responded to this ages ago, whoops.
I've tested it and it works perfectly with the NewPage module now, so many thanks! However, it still doesn't work with pages created via a pagepath field in a dataform.
I've run into this issue today. If I enter in the url for the page I want to create, or click on a link for a page that doesn't yet exits, using a template that already exists the default text comes up in the edit box, but when I preview or save the page there's nothing on it. If I create the page using a New Page module then it works fine.
