A couple of weeks ago I reached 'karma guru' status, which I understood was supposed to be permanent and not subsequently rescinded. This week, however, I deleted a sandbox in which I made the majority of my edits (http://sandbox.scp-wiki.net/sregansandbox1) before posting them to the site on which I'm active (http://www.scp-wiki.net/) and I now seem to have been demoted back to 'Very High' :(
Given that my edits on this and a couple of other sandboxed pages I cleared out recently (http://sandbox.scp-wiki.net/sector-25, http://sandbox.scp-wiki.net/acquisitions-hub, http://sandbox.scp-wiki.net/acquisitions2, http://sandbox.scp-wiki.net/acquisitions3) are no longer showing up on my profile (http://www.wikidot.com/user:info/sregan) I'm guessing the algorithm keeps track of my total edits and my spring cleaning session has wiped out a whole bunch of them (there are now only 17 pages on my profile history whereas before I believe there were close to 70).
For reference everything I've written's still on wikidot - just moved over to new pages on the site proper. Commentors on the community forums (http://community.wikidot.com/forum/t-568611/loss-of-karma-guru-status) said it wasn't normal for users to lose guru status even after deleting pages and that I should flag it up, though one also mentioned that guru status is usually reserved for people active on more than one site and the main community, so perhaps I was originally awarded that karma level in error? Rather vexing - as I mentioned on the forum I got it shortly after writing a ~45,000 word novella using wikidot for the SCP Foundation community and it felt like a real accomplishment.
Thank you for the report. We found a little bug in karma algorithm and we just have fixed it :)
