When you type a new message, at the bottom you have three buttons:
Cancel Preview Save
Cancel will dismiss the current editing, with no confirmation asked. And it's impossible to retrieve any text once the text is dismissed.
On an iPad, the Cancel button is right above the keyboard, and it happens often than when you intend to type a number, you actually hit the cancel button.
And you loose everything.
I believe this is a bug rather than a "wish" simply because it happens so often to hit the cancel button with no going back.
I don't (yet) have an ipad so haven't seen this, but with CSS you could move the buttons so they are not directly in the line of fire of the keyboard. If you want to know how to do this do ask over at the Community forum and we'll be pleased to help.

I'm just a user, I don't have a site…
In any case, dismissing a window and potentially discarding all you've done without a single confirmation is plain bad.
And your solution of just changing the CSS to move the button is …. amazing.
It has just been done. Please check if everything is allright.
@Squark: I can't get it working… I edited a page and clicked "Cancel". This immediately closed the editor and refreshed the page without prompting for confirmation.

"When you type a new message" It was all about Private Messages, not about editing a page.
@tsangk: I haven't read the bug description, and You probably misunderstand it. This bug is related to "New message". Indeed it could work the same with page edition, we will discuss it internally and probably add some confirmation.
