Note that this only occurs behind a corporate network and firewall. All wikidot sites can be accessed anonymously, but private sections cannot be accessed due to an inability to either log in or create a new account.
Logging in
If I attempt to log in using my iPod Touch, it does not work. I enter my username and password, and the "Signing in…" box appears with the red/black squares loading image.
The screen then remains like this, with no change. Closing that tab and attempting to refresh my wikidot site does not result in any changes… therefore I am not logged in.
Creating a new account
The exact same symptoms as the logging in process occur, except the message is "Validating data…" instead.
NB: Even if I intentionally insert invalid data, no error messages appear. The Validating data message just continues to remain on the screen.

Do you have any problem logging in from behind the same network but using a PC/Mac or is it only mobile Safari issue?
It is a mobile Safari issue. Using any other browser works fine behind the same network, from my Windows 7 notebook.
I am running Safari 4.0.4 (531.21.10) on the computer and if I remember correctly, the last time I tried it signed in fine from behind the network. I'll try again tomorrow to make sure it works.
Now that I think about it… I believe my iPod's safari has a debug console of some kind. I'll try enabling that in my iPod's settings and see if I can get any potentially useful information from it to post here.

Yes, I was about to suggest that thought I don't know how much verbose the debug mode is. If you will be able to get some info from the debug console, we'd be grateful as it could help us a lot to diagnose the problem.
Okay, well the debug mode on the iPod Touch was useless. It claimed that there were no problems with the page, and apparently the never-ending loading of a page isn't something to be concerned about ;-) (the loading bar is still moving)
I then moved to the notebook and found that Safari on the PC also does not work, much to my surprise. Seems I've either never used Safari from campus, or this is a recently-surfaced problem.
Safari on the PC was a little more helpful. A dialog box appeared in front of the page asking for my network access credentials, but would not accept them even when the username and password were correct. Safari uses the same method of setting proxy settings as Google Chrome and Internet Explorer, and both of those other browsers work fine.
Here is the dialog box that I am shown:
I am going to fiddle around with the settings a bit, and possibly file a support ticket with our IT department here to see if they can figure out why Safari is not working on the network. From there, hopefully I can get the mobile version working as well for my iPod Touch.

There is a potentially related issue that was reported recently, with a Blackberry.

However, the user having problems with their mobile phone has posted "I'm not sure if this is the same issue. Your problem sounds like your Touch is at least trying to run the script whereas my Blackberry shows no signs of anything happening after clicking the login link." — meaning that it could be a completely different issue.

I have the same problem from the beginning on my Blackberry - I cannot login on WD.. nothing happens.
I try to get a new release downloaded from Blackberry ( since 24.2.2010 ) with lot of bugs repaired, I hope this will help ?

I had a big surprise - when I had a look on my blöackberry at the community site - i detected I was signed on…. ? ?
means - this is something strange , as a minimum I was able once to log in…
I have to investigate more…

Well, time to make an official statement. We do not experience problems while logging in to Wikidot from iPhone/iPod Touch unless you are behind strange firewall / company's network so we do not find it as a bug. We plan to make a better support for mobile access to Wikidot. For now, we do not support mobile access through Blackberry handhelds, so we're cancelling it as a bug, it's more like a feature request.

I've since noticed that dates that appear as a result of %%created_at%% or %%updated_at%% do not appear on my iPod Touch browser either (regardless of network type) - so certain things are obviously not supported by that browser.
Just seems strange that Internet Explorer, Chrome, Opera, and Firefox all work and allow me to log in to Wikidot — but Safari doesn't, neither the iPod nor the PC version :(

I am posting with my iPod Touch now. It works when I log on from home and remain logged in when I travel to campus.
