I assume it has something to do with the URL code blocks not rendering within ListPages.

No, it's worse than that, the wiki syntax doesn't render correctly.
This is not a bug, but a documented limitation:

Perhaps instead of just not working at all, an error message could be displayed on the page where the module is, stating what the problem is?

How unusual. My use case scenario is that I was importing pages from a category, where the content of each page is CSS code.
So the following didn't work for me:
I wanted to render the CSS code with all of the correct text code highlighting.
Can you change the policy of not having [[code]] blocks in the ListPages module?
This is all parser limitation, which cannot handle those two cases at the same time:
We decided the latter is more handy, so the first cannot be really achieved unless we somehow change the parser, which is kind of planned, but probably won't be done any soon (it's also needed for this bug).
For the same reason error message cannot be printed.

Hey James, I just thought of a workaround which might suit your use case? Try this syntax highlighter instead:
Note that the type "css" must be lower-case, unlike the built-in Wikidot code blocks which accept any case.

Thanks Shane, but that workaround didn't work. The workaround involves [[html]] blocks, which are also disallowed within ListPages.
Appreciate the thought though!
Ah, should have tested it beforehand! :)

OK, so it looks like the feature works as documented.
