In response to this question, I did some tests and found that there's something strange going on with the HTML blocks at the moment, so I'm reporting it as a bug here.

Has the problem reported anything to do with the fact wikidot is not rendering the html codes between
[
] and [
]? For example, go to http://mateas.wikidot.com/condicoes, where you can check and see such html environment used in the source, though nothing shows when viewing the page (I have tried IE8 and Chrome in two different computers - one with Windows 7, another with XP - in two different locations - two different cities - and the outcome is the same!).Let me add that this was working a few days ago.
I just tested the html, embed and embedvideo tags (all related) and they all work for embedding a YouTube video.
[
]
<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EYEwH0fl4Nc&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EYEwH0fl4Nc&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>
[
]
And that video was just random… went to the YouTube home page and clicked on one. Haven't even watched it so I'm not responsible for it :P (Edit: It's worth watching!)
However, when I try to use acaetano's code, it doesn't work with the html tags…

Not even something this simple will work:
[
]
test
[
]
So there's definitely something strange going on here.
I guess if you're using something which was already possible with <embed> before html blocks became a reality, it will work. That's why it's possible with YouTube (and also, in my sites, with the AddThis widget). That's just a guess, though.

This is a bug :-)
My quick fix is to put this in the top of the html block:
Whoops! NO HTML BLOCKS IN COMMENTS :S
EDIT: Here is an example: http://sandbox.wikidot.com/tsangk:htmlblock

Another simple test: http://community.wikidot.com/blog:embedding-html-code-is-now-much-easier
is not working now! :(

I quick-fix it using tsangk solution, lets Gabrys decide how to fix it.

Um… does TeRq's fix work in Private site… because my Private sites still don't render HTML…
Kenneth Tsang (@jxeeno)
This has not been fixed even on public sites. My start page should have a jQuery slideshow (using an include from the portfolio page and in the sidebar and there should be a jQuery tab menu and the html block is in the nav:side page. In both cases they are inside an html block and are not displaying.

Another example where it is not working is at http://sgc1.wikidot.com/start where, again there should be a jQuery slideshow (in the _template page and included from the slideshow:banner page. Again in the sidebar, a weather widget which is included from the weather page is not displaying.
So is there pattern here and it's still broken when used in includes?

I'm closing this. Thank you for reporting and solving the problem :-)

Sorry, we had a little problem, but now it should definitely work. Please clear the cache before trying. I'm sorry for the trouble.
