nobilis-aleph.wdfiles.com/local—theme/metamorph-aleph/style.css, part of the custom theme for nobilis.me, is only getting served intermittently by the wdfiles server, leading to a site that looks completely broken. This only happens when a "Referrer" header is set on the request. This can easily be reproduced by curl.
This command returns nothing roughly 75% of the time:
curl 'http://nobilis-aleph.wdfiles.com/local--theme/metamorph-aleph/style.css' -H 'Referer: http://nobilis.me/'
This command works all of the time:
curl 'http://nobilis-aleph.wdfiles.com/local--theme/metamorph-aleph/style.css'
The main themes server, themes.wdfiles.com, does not seem to have this problem. My guess is that this is due to a misconfiguration of the wdfiles servers that was *intended* to prevent the hotlinking of wikidot user files from non-wikidot websites. However, this change makes it impossible to use custom themes on Wikidot sites with custom domains, like nobilis.me.
Here's an example of repeated queries of the css file, to show the intermittency. "339" is a query that works (that's the expected line-length of the file) and "0" is a query that's broken:
brownsville:Downloads$ while true; do curl -s 'http://nobilis-aleph.wdfiles.com/local--theme/metamorph-aleph/style.css' -H 'Referer: http://nobilis.me/' | wc -l; done

Thanks! Seems like this bug started sometime last week. Any idea what might be causing it?
As the owner of nobilis.me, I agree that this is a problem and hope that it gets fixed.
Looks like it's not just custom domains—hitherby-dragons.wdfiles(.)com/local—theme/metamorph-hitherby/style.css, with the referrer hitherby-dragons.wikidot(.)com is also broken
One thing I noticed: both of these domains are served by WikiDot backend 0f30d14dcad7978e7, not all WikiDot backends seem to have this issue.
